I Am the Walrus
One of my favorite Beatles song of all time, I Am the Walrus is awesome. Of course, everything by the Beatles is awesome but that is besides the point. This song defiantly has a psychedelic feeling to in. John Lennon even admitted to writing part of it while on acid. The song is basically three separate ideas Lennon couldn't make into three individual songs and he combined them into this.
This song defiantly is on the border of rock and just plain weird. Besides the normal band instruments, this song includes violins, cellos, horns and clarinets. Something defiantly not seen day, and surely not seen back in the 60's. I am not basing this off personal experience, but I think this would be the best song to listen to if you were under the influence.

The Beatles were great, don’t get me wrong, but what is the walrus supposed to represent? And the eggman? Sure it has a good beat and a nice melody but why do people have so much respect for them if they needed drugs to right songs? Why don't they get arrested for doing these drugs? Why can't one enjoy a song without drugs?
ReplyDeleteYes Jimi Hendrix was great with his drugs, yes I am the Walrus is great, but how dumb it really sounds singing I am the Walrus, Koo Koo kachoo. Please if you can write a blog about the symbolic meaning of the Walrus and the eggman.
Please though, don't say that the eggman is "the man" trying to bring down all the walruses. Not to make fun of you, but rather point out how silly it is to assume that there is an overlord force specifically out to get individuals.
